Trent still in flood

Published: Friday, 10 January 2025

TODAY, Friday, flood warnings remain active on the Trent after a week of floods.

It is the lower part of the non-tidal river that is in flood, the Environment Agency warn, with river levels remaining high around Newark.

Newark Marina is in flood, with boats at risk, though everything is being done to save them.

Boat sunk

Boats moored at Gunthorpe, with moorings on the river, took the brunt of the flood, with information of boats sunk. There are notices of other boats sunk on other parts of the river.

Widespread flooding in the area began on Monday with 19 active flood warnings issued in the morning alone concerning the Trent, but these have decreased as the flood waters pass though to the tidal section of the river.
