The future looks bright for Mercia
THE FUTURE looks bright as Mercia Marina prepares for the construction of the much-anticipated Promenade building.
Already the Willow Tree Café temporary home is nearing completion that will feature new and larger premises. The Promenade will include three new retail units, an additional restaurant and 15 apartments—many already reserved by long-time visitors who adore the marina.
This design-led building will link the Boardwalk and Piazza, completing a hub of excitement for everyone to enjoy and, very importantly, replace the tired and frankly falling apart marina office and the adjacent building in addition to brighter and better premises for the Willow Tree.
Construction begins
Construction begins in earnest this spring, with demolition of existing buildings starting in March and full-scale work kicking off in April. During this time, The Willow Tree will temporarily relocate to the new office building near the main gates, while the Marina Reception moves upstairs above Hettie & Sid on the Boardwalk. The marina expects this transformative project to be completed by summer 2026, bringing all the marina buildings up to the award-winning standards.
