Devizes to Westminster

THIS year at least 16 crews will be starting off from Devizes Wharf on Good Friday for the annual Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race.

The Devizes Canoe Club, started by canoeist and businessman Nick Cox, now boasts 120 members, most of whom participate regularly, enabling the club to enter so many crews this year. The picture shows the canoes at Westminster last year.

Through the night

Nine of them are entered in the senior doubles category, who will paddle through the night to complete the 125 miles course on the Kennet & Avon Canal and the Thames, finishing at Westminster Bridge.

This year the club is also entering six junior doubles crews.
