At last—the end of the Erewash saga!

The Erewash Canal saga has come to an end, with the navigation open.
And all the pounds in water, Keith Gudgin reports.
It had been going on for some time, since Wednesday 6th of this month, with the reason being given as gates being left open, that of course would not cause a shortage.
Worst affected
The pounds worst affected were those between Sandiacre Lock 63 and Gallows Inn Lock 67, meaning four pounds were short of water, though this varied from time to time but with always the 'gates left open' excuse given.
But boaters are aware, as must be the trust, that it is obviously something more serious, such as leaks from the waterway, causing such low pounds so often.
The future may give us the real reason.
