Progress on the Monty

A DRY November helped volunteers make significant progress on a the further restoration of the Montgomery Canal.
This is the Crickheath South section of the Montgomery Canal, with another length of canal cleared-out and the towpath re-laid.
Volunteers
This was undertaken and completed by the volunteers of the Shropshire Union Canal Society. with a member of the society explaining:
“Given the torrential rain and flooding during October it was a pleasant relief to have dry, calm, mild weather for the entire work party, albeit overcast. Once again, substantial progress was made."
It is clear that the 'Monty' restoration is now well on its way to completion.
