K & A with too much water and not enough!

A SECTION of the Kennet & Avon Canal has too much water, but another section not enough.

The waterway from Fobney Lock 105 to County Lock County Lock 106 is a river section with too much water, Keith Gudgin reports.

The trust relates that due to a period of persistent rain, the section is currently designated 'Yellow'—Caution stream increasing.

It advises that users of all unpowered boats not to navigate and users of powered boats to find a safe mooring, as the flow of the river is likely to strengthen in the near future.

Not enough water

Alas the summit pound between Wooton Rivers Lock 51 to Crofton Lock 60 is closed owing to lack of water.

And we are told the section will be closed until enough water can be pumped-up from the river.
