Canal & River Trust to sell entire street
PEOPLE living in a row of houses in Sharpness had a shock when told their homes were to be sold.
For it is another property that Canal & River Trust are selling to raise funds, Stephen foster reports.
Dock Road. a row of over 20 white terraced houses. is being sold as a single lot with residents sure that when sold the rents will be greatly increased.
Guide price of £1.6m
The row of houses is due to be auctioned on 7th November by Canal & River Trust, with a guide price of £1.6m, leaving the tenants in complete shock, but the trust tells that there 'would be no change to the residents’ tenancy agreements'.
The street comprises of 12 terrace houses, eight semi-detached and two detached properties, according to the auction house Allsop, that is handling the sale.
It is told that the row currently generates £168,000 a year in rent for the trust.
Sharpness is at the seaward end of the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal.
