Erewash Canal closed again through lack of water

FOR the third time in as many weeks the Erewash Canal is closed through lack of water.

This time the canal has low water between Pastures Lock 64 and Gallows Inn Lock 67, and was closed yesterday, Wednesday.

Struggling

The Canal & River Trust tell it is 'struggling to normalise the water levels' between the two locks and is carrying out water control every day to try and return the levels back to normal, but this may take some time.

Boaters are asked not to attempt to travel along this section.
