Water down by three feet on Curdworth Flight

WATER level is down by three feet on Curdworth Flight on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal.
So it has been closed for a week, Keith Gudgin reports.
Not able to get water down
The cyanide incident at Walsall is the problem for the lack of water, Canal & River Trust stating that it has been unable to allow any water down via the Tame Valley Canal to feed the Birmingham & Fazeley.
Now that the Tame Valley is no longer affected, staff are working on getting water down to the flight and reopening the waterway.
Water is being run from Parry Bar Locks, that it is hoped will replenish the Birmingham and Fazeley so it can be reopened, but expected to take a day to fill.
LATEST—Water levels recovered this morning, Wednesday.
