The massive Brownhillls Canal Festival this coming weekend
IT IS TIME again for the massive Brownhills Canal Festival this coming weekend.
This is held annually on the third weekend of August each year on the Wyrley and Essington Canal at Silver Street.
Saturday and Sunday
The festival has floating traders, historic narrowboats, land traders and lots more, and this year is held over the Saturday and Sunday at 10am to 4pm the 17th and 18th August.
The event is so popular that all the plots for land traders and charities are fully booked. Neither is there any space left for either historic or private boats.
The attractions at this 2024 show include 13 floating traders, 17 land traders, five charities, four food land traders and seven historic boats.
Other attractions
Other attractions include Kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding with 'taster' session both days, £5 per person at Royal Sutton Coldfield Canoe Club (Brownhills).
Staffordshire Portable Amateur Radio Club: The group will be contacting people from across the world, come and hear who they speak to.
Ebony the Shire Horse: Ebony will be there for a meet and greet, bring her some carrots!
Simple Folk: Duo performing the best folk music you’ve never heard—and some that you have. (Sunday from 10-30).
Lichfield Lighthouse Company: Sea song/shanty singers (Sunday from 1pm).
