Inconsiderately parked car restricts canal

THERE is an inconsiderately parked car restricting the Dudley No. 1 Canal, Keith Gudgin tells us.

The car landed in the canal today, Monday and is most inconsiderately parked between Parkhead Top Lock and Dudley Tunnel.

Still open

The navigation is still open as boats can just get past on the off-side as the car in near the towpath side, but of course is completely stuck.

Canal & River Trust ask that boaters take care when passing the vehicle, as it could be drawn further in the water by the wake of a quickly moving narrowboat.

Contractors have been asked to attend to remove the car, but it is not known when.
