Tower blocks for the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal

PERMISSION has been granted for two tower blocks in Birmingham for student accommodation.
These will consist of two blocks rising to 14 and 35 storeys at Cambrian Wharf on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal, Roger Fox reports.
This is Birmingham University’s plan to create more than 1,200 student rooms in two blocks, that has now received planning permission.
Redevelop Cambrian Wharf
The University College Birmingham is to redevelop the Cambrian Wharf canalside site at a cost of £100m-plus.
The accommodation presently consists of a 1970s low-rise student halls complex beside the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal. The picture is an artist's impression of the two tower blocks.
