GRANTHAM Canal Society is in need of people to keep trip boats and plant operating, explaining:

One of the most important sections of the society keeps our boats and plant in working order, so that our operational staff are able to maintain a navigable canal.

Allows trip boat to earn income

This allows the trip boat to earn income to fund the society, and the work parties and construction teams use of boats and plant to maintain and restore the canal. The plant maintenance department are struggling to keep our ever-increasing fleet in tip top condition. As you can imagine, any plant out of action impacts funds coming in, and stops restoration and repairs from happening.
