THE Leeds & Liverpool Canal is still closed at Bank Newton Locks.
Engineers are on site to attempt to diagnose the failure and design a repair, with a fish rescue taking place due to the lack of water, Keith Gudgin reports.
Being drained
The affected area has been pumped clear of water so that the failure can eventually be discovered, with coffer dams and pumps being installed over the weekend.

Passage for boaters will be at the discretion of the lock keepers on site during working hours. However Holme Bridge Lock will remain closed to preserve water levels.
