Funding secured for further restoration

MOST of you will be familiar with the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust.

It is battling to link the Wyrley & Essington Canal with the Coventry Canal at Huddlesford Junction.

Funding secured

It seems that in the last few months it has made great progress according to its Press release, Keith Gudgin reports:

aqueductRoad'Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust, has secured a £250,000 grant from Biffa Award; a multi-million pound fund that helps to build communities and transform lives through awarding grants to community and environmental projects across the UK, as part of the Government's Landfill Communities Fund'.

This funding is for phase two of Darnford Moors Ecology Park.

Motorway aqueduct

The first phase included the aqueduct over the then being constructed Mk6 toll road back in 2003 (pictured)—20 years ago.
