More moorings closed for most of the summer

TWO miles of towpath from Fradley right past Woodend Lock to bridge 54 will be closed for moorings all summer.

The towpath will be closed for boaters from Monday 20th March  until Tuesday 8th August, Keith Gudgin reports.

Why not in winter?

Canal & River Trust tells that these are 'towpath improvement works', with Keith, rightly asking—Why couldn't they have done these works in the winter when the demand for them is very much less?

The closure includes the towpath by the top two Fradley locks and way past Wood End Lock to Bridge 52.

So the 14 days moorings at Fradley will be out of use for most of the summer in addition to those at Tixall Wide that are similarly affected, but for longer.
