Teams too busy to attend Huddersfield Narrow stoppage

THE Canal & River Trust state that its teams are too busy to attend to a 'issue with the cill' on a lock on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
Lock 7W at Stalybridge suffered the 'issue' on Monday, but the trust tells its teams are unable to attend to its repair being too busy with winter works, Keith Gudgin reports.
This information was given following a report that after investigation damage had been discovered to the cill, and the lock closed to navigation.
Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation
The Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation is also still closed 'due to a fault' on Mexborough Lock that developed on Monday.
This means that passage is not possible at this time, with engineers attending the site but only to assess the repairs required.
