Huddersfield Narrow Canal closed until middle of March

OWING to various reasons the Huddersfield Narrow Canal is closed until 17th March.

There will be no access at Stanley Dawson Lock (1E) in Huddersfield to the waterway, Keith Gudgin reports.

After this time, once again access to locks 1E, 2E and 3E will be by pre booking only.

Emergency culvert repairs

In addition to water shortage further delays to the emergency culvert repairs between lock 21E and 20E are adding to the problem

The online booking system will commence 72 hours before the navigation is reopened.
