All very strange
HOW can a boat run aground in a bridge hole?
The notice from Canal & River Trust tells that a boat had run aground in Moss Swing Bridge hole, Keith Gudgin reports.
An obstruction
Yet there was no notice of lack of water at that swing bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, but the trust maintained that it was causing an obstruction and navigation was closed on Sunday morning.
Then later in the day a further notice that the navigation was open, with a link to the map showing the location of the bridge, but a notice stating it was not available.
The reason given for the stoppage was 'water resources'.
Bridge finally in position
Today there is a feaure in the West Leeds Dispatch telling that it’s been a very long wait, but the replacement Moss Lane Bridge in Rodley is finally in position on site.
All very strange undeed.
