Once a standard is established, it will, naturally, be put out to competitive tender to the usual suspects.

Absolving Canal & River Trust

This will allow a national contractor to bid to provide and manage these services, absolving the Canal & River Trust of any accountability when those services inevitably fail.

Putting plenty of money into the pockets of the private contracting firms that have already extracted millions upon millions from the trust for less than adequate provision.

We've seen this before, but never truly had an opportunity to make how we feel about this known.

I strongly suggest we should.
