KeadbySlidingBridgeClosed until further notice

Network Rail states that from today, Friday, due to breakdowns the bridge will be closed until further notice, Keith Gudgin reports.

This means that there is no access either to or from the Stainforth & Keadby Canal or to or from the tidal Trent at Keadby Lock.

Boaters approaching the lock will however be able to get off the tidal river and moor between the lock and the bridge or moor at the bridge on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal when approaching from the opposite direction.

Heat affected opening

During the hot weather heat affected the bridge stopping it opening at above 25C, but now breakdowns have closed the bridge completely with no intimation when it will be reopened.
