More rail bridge work could cause stoppage

FURTHER to the work on a rail bridge over the Coventry Canal that will cause navigation stoppage, another is planned over another waterway.

CranfleetRailBridgeNetwork Rail has announced rail upgrade works to be carried out on Christmas Day and Boxing Day when no services are scheduled on the rail bridge over Cranfleet Cut, writes Roger Fox.

Deck replacement

The works include replacement of the deck of a bridge which carries the railway over the canal at Cranfleet Cut in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire.

The old bridge will be replaced over Christmas with further work to be carried out at New Year. Presumably there will be stoppages announced by CaRT.
