THE breach of the Kennet & Avon Canal will be repaired and reopened next Monday.
This is the promise from Canal & River Trust of the breach that occurred in October on the waterway at Reading, that it will be reopened to navigation, Keith Gudgin reports.
Repair work completed
It tells that all the bank repair works at Burghfield Weir have now been completed and the teams continue to work removing the artificial causeway from the river bed to facilitate the opening of the navigation and increase in water levels.
The breach was between locks 102 (pictured) and 103.
The navigation is scheduled to reopen at 12 noon on Monday 13th December.
