Who removed the swing bridge barriers?

THE Grand Union Canal is closed at Chaulden with Winkwell Swing Bridge out of action.

We are told that the barriers of the swing bridge were removed yesterday, Wednesday, Keith Gudgin reports.

The swing bridge is out of action because the bridge barriers were removed, with workers on site today to attended to the issue.

But as Keith remarks there is no intimation who removed the barriers and for what purpose, only that the bridge is available for road traffic only.

Perhaps further showing that the new policy of stoppage notices is to leave out details, as in the previous Lee Navigation notice.
