Leeds & Liverpool Canal sink hole repaired

THE sink hole on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Lock 50 has been repaired.

This means the navigation is now re-open, though the breach at Rishton is still closed, Keith Gudgin reports.

Closed four flights

This is the breach between bridges 109 and 110 that closed the four flights from Barrowford to Wigan on Monday 11th October through lack of water.

It was stated that this stoppage will take months to repair.
