Another breach!

THE Canal & River Trust's description of a breach is 'significant leak'.

Now it tells of a 'significant leak' on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, but as this is how it described the breach this week on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, so this most likely is another breach, Keith Gudgin reports.

Navigation closed

Its location is between Lock 14W and 15W at Saddleworth, with the navigation closed from Lock 8W at Stalybridge to Lock 21W at Saddleworth.

Engineers are expected to be on site today, Thursday, to examine the situation.
