An extra attraction

THERE is likely to be an extra attraction for anyone wanting information about the restoration of the Cotswold Canals.

The plan is to turn the former Bell Hotel at Stroud into a visitor centre, which would show plans of the restoration, allow people to buy merchandise become a member of the Cotswold Canals Trust.

Perfect location

Situated by the side of the lock at Wallbridge, members of the trust believe it would be the perfect location for a visitor centre and would allow residents to find out about the regeneration, buy merchandise or even become a member.

The old pub could also be the base for boat trips and organised walks, and to help, Stroud Town Council has promised to pay 2,000 annually over the next three years towards the operation.
