Sunk boat closes Erewash Canal

A BOAT caught on a lock cill has sunk and closed the Erewash Canal.

The boat is in the bottom of Eastwood Lock between Eastwood and Cotmanhay and has of course stopped navigation, Keith Gudgin reports.

Waiting

It is now a matter of waiting for the boat to be removed from the lock.

There is a track to the lock, so it is possible to easily access the lock which should make this a fairly quick undertaking.
