Sunken boat saga continues

THE saga of the sunken narrowboat on the Cam in Cambridge reached new heights during the week as it was pumped out, then let loose by yobs and finally sold on the Web.

The boat was pumped out after a day long struggle, but then yobs untied it,  and it floated away on the swollen river, and was slowly sinking, but luckily the Cam Conservators boat was able to rescue it and get it back to its moorings.

Owner Eric Finlow-Bates advertised the boat on the Web, and managed to sell it quickly for just £3,000, but the new owner then had to pump it out again.

Cam Conservators had posted an order on the boat on Wednesday giving the owner 24 hours to move it or the craft would be impounded.
