Good news on Figure of Three repair

IN THIS time of doom and gloom on the present state of the waterways there is good news concerning the Figure of Three Locks on the Calder & Hebble Navigation.
These were the locks that were battered into near destruction by the storms last year, Keith Gudgin reports.
Navigable channel in place
The good news is that, as was promised, the locks will be open with a navigable channel in place for operation from 10am Monday 12th April for user operation.
These are to be pre-booked at present with staff available on site.
The damage to the locks was extensive, as the picture shows, and over the months they have had to be virtually rebuilt to bring them back into workable condition.
