Towpath Sexual assault in broad daylight

A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted in broad daylight on the Kings Langley towpath.

The attack took place on the towpath near the Red Lion on the Grand Union Canal in the town, with the police only just releasing the details of the attack that occurred around 3pm on Friday 12th March.

Man arrested

Detectives are continuing to investigate the report of the serious sexual assault which occurred in broad daylight, with a man being arrested in connection with the investigation and interviewed in custody, but since released.

Detective Inspector Michael Macbeth of Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Sexual Offences Investigation Team explained:

“Specialist officers are continuing to support the victim and are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

“As part of this, officers have been in the area again to conduct additional enquiries."

The actual circumstances of the attack have not been released.

Towpath safe

The Grand Union towpath through Kings Langley and Hemel Hempstead is considered to be safe, with the last recorded attack published in narrowboatworld Beaten-up on towpath on the 15th December 2012.
