Part of Trent for sale

Published: Tuesday, 05 January 2010

THERE'S a chance for you to own part of the Trent this year, as it goes up for auction.

A 200ft length of the river at Fiskerton by a former warehouse and granary is going to auction on the 16th February by agents HEB at the Belfry Hotel in Nottingham.

Its guide price is £300,000, which states that fishing, boating and mooring rights at Fiskerton Wharf are included.

Though any new owner would technically own the waterfront to the middle of the stream, British Waterways' of course own the mooring rights.

During last year part of the Trent under Clifton Bridge  was sold for  £270,000, being bought by the University of Nottingham.
