Trent & Mersey Canal still closed at Willington

THE voids under the bridge on the Trent & Mersey Canal towpath at Willington have still not been repaired.

These voids are under the road bridge in the village and appeared on Monday 11th January, but the flood prevented work but this is expected to start this week, Keith Gudgin reports.

Open in two weeks

Canal & River Trust state that the disruption means that these voids will not be filled and the navigation not open for another two weeks.

The trust states that the information above is a 'draft notice of works planned as part of our winter 2020/21 stoppages programme'.
