Still hope for canal walking festival

THE Inland Waterways Association National Trail-boat Festival has been cancelled by the Chesterfield Canal Trust.

This was scheduled for the end of May but of course the dreaded coronavirus will still be around and so it is thought to be too much of a risk

However it is hoped that the trust's walking festival in September will still be able to be held, with already 40 different walks lined up.

It is hoped to add more, to give a varied choice of distances along the Chesterfield Canal towpath, and the organisers are keen to hear from anyone who is prepared to lead a walk.
