The breach now a leak

WORK is still continuing on the breach on the Shrophire Union Canal below Audlem.

The navigation remains closed between Bridge 79, Moss Hall and Bridge 82, Coole Lane on the waterway whilst work is continuing, Keith Gudgin reports.

Stop planks

In addition to the stop planks, a cofferdam has been placed on site to stem the flow of water with clay applied to the affected area.

The trust advise that 'following further inspection it is no longer a breach but a significant leak at Bridge 80, Bennetts Bridge' that has closed the navigation.
