Leaking culvert closes Trent & Mersey

A LEAKING culvert has closed the Trent & Mersey Canal at Northwich.
The canal between bridges 184 and 185 is closed, with Canal & River Trust stating 'due to a leaking culvert and towpath'(?) Keith Gudgin reports.
Engineers assessing the situation
In the meantime the navigation is closed, with engineers on site today assessing the situation.
It is not stated if there is any great loss of water along this very long pound from Middlewich to Preston Brook where it joins the Bridgewater Canal.
Both the navigation and towpath are closed.
