Busted cill repaired in four hours

THE busted cill of a lock on the Shropshire Union Canal took four hours to repair.
In reporting this Keith Gudgin asks 'if If they can do it in four hours on the Shroppie why does it take four plus days on the Grand Union?'

Why indeed, but the navigation is now open, yet there is no notice of the similar problem on the Grand Union lock yet being repaired.
Was it a matter of contractors versus the Trust's own people?
