Gloucester Tall Ships event nominated

THE annual Tall Ships event held at Gloucester has been nominated for an award.

The award for the three days event has been nominated by the National Outdoor Events Association, Alan Tilbury reports.

Having the depth

Held in the Gloucester Basin of the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal, it is the only such inland event in the country, the only waterway having the depth to accommodate such ships, and it attracts thousands of people to the city.

It is not just the ships that are an attraction, but the many activities that take place during the three days, spread over both the water and land.

Event of the year

The National Outdoor Events Association is recognised as the leading outdoor events association in the country, with the Tall Ships being nominated for Event of the Year Award.
