Doubt about K&A water supply

THOUGH the Caen Hill Flight on the Kennet & Avon will be open Friday, there is doubt about the water supply.

The Canal & River Trust intend to open the flight on Friday from 10am with the last boat allowed in at 1pm, having to clear by 4pm, Keith Gudgin reports.

Concern

However, there is some concern of the availability of the water supply in view of the missing pump, so boaters should be aware that this could also close earlier.

This also refers to the use of the summit pound that is scheduled to close for the last boat at 4pm, but could close earlier.

There are restrictions in force during the days that navigation will be allowed, with boaters intending to use the flight and summit pound advised to contact the Trust before any attempt is made to navigate.
