Boats moved from Gloucester Museum

THE boat displays at Gloucester Docks are to be removed, Canal & River Trust state to enable refurbishment of the waterway museum.

The boats will be removed on lorries, and include the narrowboats Northwich, Oak and Wye, together with the concrete work boat (pictured) currently on display outside the museum.

Not staying in Gloucester

It is not stated why these boats are not staying in Gloucester, just being moved along the waterway until refurbishment is complete or where they are being removed to.

But it is thought that they could be moved to the Ellesmere Port Museum, as have been other artefacts over recent years, the Trust wanting to make this its main museum.

Especially as we are told that various railway rolling stock is being removed to Ellesmere Port.
