Open Weekends at new marina

WHITE MILLS marina on the Nene is hosting a series of Open Weekends to allow prospective moorers to inspect the facilities at the new marina.

Situated by Lock 9 on the river at Earls Barton between Northampton and Wellingborough the Open Weekends will take place in Spring. The picture shows the marina on Christmas Eve.

The new 141 berths marina which can accommodate wide beams, narrowboats and cruisers will be hosting the weekends to give boaters the opportunity to come and see for themselves exactly what the new facility has to offer.

Marina Manager Chris Dixon who took up his role in September explained:

"Last year, we held several Open Weekends before the cut through to join the River Nene, but some people found it difficult to envisage how the marina would look once it was full of water. With White Mills now nearing completion, we have organised some more Open Weekends to give boating enthusiasts the chance to come and take a look at what we have to offer, and of course reserve a berth whilst we have a good selection available."

The weekends

The Open Weekends will be held between 10am and 4pm on 27th & 28th February; 2nd & 3rd April; 7th & 8th May.
