Braunston Elsan blocked again

THE Elsan facility at Braunston on the Grand Union Canal is once again out of order to boaters.

Canal & River Trust have advised that this is blocked, but that contractors have been notified, Keith Gudgin tells us.

It was on the 4th of September that our Mick Fitzgibbons report on the 'Braunston Stink', when the Elsan was out of order, yet in was not until the 14th of October—ten weeks later—that we were able to report that it was back in use.

This caused great problems for boaters relying on the service, and will so again to the many boaters—particularly continuous cruisers—passing through the busy 'crossroads' that is Braunston.

These boaters must surely hope that the repair will be somewhat quicker this time.
