Why not dredge it?

ONCE again there are restrictions of the Lancaster Canal, and once again it is the feeder that is clogged with weeds stopping the water flow.

As from yesterday (Wednesday) until further notice, Glasson Flight will be closed after 4pm daily until the following morning at 8am, to conserve water, with the locks padlocked.

Excessive weed growth

Canal & River Trust tells us that once again the lower than normal water levels are 'due to excessive weed growth of the feeder for the canal'.

Why on earth doesn't it dredge the feeder then?
