Help for man whose boat was fired

Published: Thursday, 13 August 2015

A WEB page has been set up for the boater whose narrowboat was deliberately fired, to help him secure another home.

Gary Watson tells us that nobody should be in the position Peter Demkiv is in right now, he is a truly good man, who doesn't take much from the world, but gives kind words and deeds freely, adding:

Set on fire

"Whilst away from his boat for a few days, trying to get one of his dogs back to good health, Peter's boat, Cecily Mary, that is his home, was broken in to, the engine and belongings stolen and the boat set on fire.

"Peter's entire life belongings have gone—priceless family photographs, papers, heirlooms and personal possessions gone. We cannot replace those things that mean so much—those things that have been taken by the vilest of actions.

"It is going to take immense funds to get Peter back living on the water and living in his beloved boat, living the only life which makes sense to him—please, please help. Let us all show that—in the middle of Peter's darkest days—there's some real good folks in the world, good folks who won't sit back and watch a good man suffer alone.

"If you have the ability to pledge materials, boatyard space, tools, sponsorship of any kind—anything which might help please chip and/or contact me to help make this good man's life truly worth living again—let us help heal this hurt soul from the vile actions of the lowest form of excuses for human beings."
