Two failures in one day

FOLLOWING on this morning's report that two paddles failed on a lock on the Ashton Canal putting it out of business, we are now told that Limehouse Lock on to the Thames is out of action, making it two lock failures in one day.

The words used now are 'experiencing a problem', but it still means the same—it's out of action, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Tidal creek

Boaters wanting access on to the Thames, but more importantly those wanting to get off the tidal river are told to use Bow Lock, using the tidal creek.

Though engineers are on site we are informed that it is not possible for them to operate the lock.
