Spring is sprung

SPRING is sprung, boats are moving and it would seem that it is not only speeding cyclists that are out and about on the canals writes Orph Mable.

Last evening, at about 20.30hrs, we were treated to the visitation of a ‘nice' gentleman on the interestingly named narrowboat Four Knots.

Residential

He went passed Oxley at a great rate of ‘knots' (more than four anyway) in failing light, causing the moored boats, several of which are residential, to rock around like fairground ‘Waltzers'.

With much revving of his engine, he then made to moor up adjacent to Bridge 65, before applying maximum revs and disappearing into the dusk towards Compton.

Spring is definitely here!
