Kennet & Avon closure again

FOR the second time this year the Kennet & Avon Canal is closed at Seend, 'until further notice'.

There is damage to the top gate, of Seend Lock 17, with Canal & River Trust advising boaters on Saturday 22nd, that the lock is now closed.

Second time

This is the second time this year that this lock has been closed to boaters; the first time in May when a broken collar caused the waterway to be closed for five days.

The actual damage to the lock gate is not known, nor how long it will take to repair.
