Ashby Canal running out of water
Published: Friday, 14 August 2020
THE 22 miles long pound af the Ashby Canal (coupled with 14 miles of the Coventry) is running out of water.
This has prompted a warning from Canal & River Trust that this is consequently making it very difficult for boaters to travel, Keith Gudgin reports.
Going down for some time
Having recently moored on the Ashby, Keith also reports that this pound will require a lot of water to top it up and has been going down for some time without anyone doing anything about it, so now it has become urgent!
Yesterday, Thursday, the Trust, told that it is attempting to get water from the Coventry Canal—that it states is also low.
It now advises boaters to minimise their travel at this moment in time and please proceed with care.
