Two failures on Monday

TWO failures on Monday closed two navigations, though one was reopened the following day.

Wrenbury Lift Bridge failed again, closing the Llangollen on Monday, but was back in action yesterday, Tuesday, Keith Gudgin reports.

Not so lucky

But the stoppage on the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation caused by the failure of Aldwarke Lock was not so lucky as its mechanical failure has still not been rectified today (Wednesday).

So sometimes the 'wait until it breaks' policy works, but seemingly more often, not.
