Droitwich Marina completed

THE first boats have now moved into the new Droitwich Marina situated on the recently restored section of the Droitwich Canals.

Started in July last year the marina has berths for 238 boats, with the first three boats arriving last Sunday (19th February), the marina of course benefiting from the restoration of the waterways that now join the Worcester & Birmingham Canal with the Severn, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Concrete channel

Being a short distance from the actual waterway, it needed 80 yards of concrete channel to connect, which was the final phase of the construction.  The pictures shows the site in September last year.

The marina includes an office, laundry, toilets and showers together with pump-out facilities and fuel.

For prospective moorers, the marina will be holding an open day from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 28th April.
